Fall Into Fitness for Autism

Starting in October, Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) will be launching our Fall Into Fitness for Autism campaign. Coordinators and key volunteers can use this as a way to have their workouts count for more than calories burned and muscles built.

From running clubs to Yoga studios, from Karate to dance class, find out if your people want to make a difference and designate part of their workout to autism. A workout is great for your heart health. Designating part of a workout to autism will make your heart happy!

The dollar amount raised is a big help to TACA with a huge side bonus of giving people around you a reason to think about autism (and know about TACA) even if it’s just for one workout. Any amount of awareness helps!

Besides improving your health through fitness, here are more reasons for you to donate to TACA:

•Autism has risen rapidly, from 1 in 10,000 in 1970, to 1 in 250 in 2001, to 1 in 68 today.

•More children are diagnosed with autism each year than with AIDS, diabetes & cancer combined.

•Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the United States.

•Currently, there is no medical detection or cure for autism. Early intervention is the key to overcoming autism. Thousands of children have shown significant improvement resulting from early diagnosis and use of effective interventions.

•Families need the support that TACA provides now more than ever.
